Dietrich scores back-to-back top-five finishes during visits to Port Royal and Williams Grove

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (March 16, 2020) – It was another productive weekend in Pennsylvania Posse Country for ‘Double-D’ Danny Dietrich, ultimately capping his two-day run with back-to-back top-five outcomes, highlighting each of his starts with a runner-up performance during Williams Grove Speedway’s season opener on Sunday, March 15.

Perhaps not surprising considering his success rate at the speedway, but Dietrich wasted little time during Williams Grove’s first main event of the year, utilizing the initial start to make an impressive jump from seventh to third in just one circuit.

Continuing his pursuit of the leader, the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native then drove around Freddie Rahmer to capture second with just ten laps recorded. Unfortunately, Dietrich was forced to settle back into third when Carson Macedo got by the familiar No. 48 with 16 laps checked off the counter. Not content, Dietrich moved around Ryan Smith, who led much of the program, to regain second shortly thereafter.

One night prior at the Port Royal ‘Speed Palace,’ Dietrich drove from eighth to third during feature competition, forced to battle with Port Royal champion Logan Wagner and former Outlaw Brent Marks along the way. A third-place finish during heat race competition, a product of row four, secured Dietrich’s A-main starting position.

“It was a great weekend for our team. We want to win, but consistency is important. I’m just happy we were able to race,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “I want to thank the fans for coming out and showing their support. We all know the craziness that’s going on right now, but thank you for showing your support for Central Pennsylvania racing.”

Although Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing plan to continue their 2020 campaign with another visit to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, March 20, the defending Williams Grove Speedway and Central PA sprint car champions have not announced final plans for Saturday, March 21.
