GETTYSBURG, Pa. (March 6, 2023) – Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing put together an impressive weekend in Pennsylvania Posse Country, and although they fell just short of attaining their first triumph of the season, the team accomplished consistency and competitiveness, capping their two-race campaign with a pair of top-five finishes, one of which a runner-up result at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, March 5.

Dietrich, driver of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, led most of the distance Saturday afternoon in the Pigeon Hills before surrendering the top spot, losing a late race battle to three-time and defending track champion, Freddie Rahmer. Rahmer’s persistence with three remaining paid off, utilizing a slider between turns one and two to force Dietrich back to second. The Gettysburg native tried to return the favor, but Rahmer’s momentum was too much to overcome.

The following afternoon in Port Royal Speedway’s season opener, Dietrich finished fourth, maintaining his position within the top five after starting fifth on the $5,000-to-win grid.

It can be noted that Dietrich is now four-for-four in the top-five column this season in Pennsylvania, finishing no worse than fourth.

“Another great weekend for this team. I made some mistakes on Saturday that cost us the win, but we know what we have to do,” Dietrich explained. “We have a pretty big weekend ahead. We’ll take the next few days to reset before joining the Outlaws at Port Royal.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with another action-packed weekend in Pennsylvania Posse Country, first joining the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in a Port Royal Speedway doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, March 10-11, followed by Williams Grove Speedway’s season opener on Sunday, March 12.
