Double-D” makes big gains in Gettysburg Clash and Morgan Cup; Williams Grove and Lincoln ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 16, 2022) – Although unable to attain a victory, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich was more than impressive in his two-race slate with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, driving on to score a top-ten finish in Lincoln Speedway’s Gettysburg Clash on Wednesday, May 11, the product of row nine, following that feat with an impressive rally from 24th to finish 11th in Williams Grove Speedway’s Morgan Cup on Saturday, May 14. In all, Dietrich advanced 23 feature positions with the Greatest Show On Dirt, the week’s most impressive display of perseverance.

Joining a field of 55, the largest car count of the World of Outlaws season thus far, Dietrich, wheelman of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, finished eighth in Lincoln’s annual Gettysburg Clash, rallying from 18th on the A-Main grid. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native was forced to start deep as the result of a fifth-place finish during his respective heat race.

Dietrich was fourth in the Morgan Cup Last Chance Showdown which ignited his eventual 13-spot rally to 11th. The Morgan Cup opener on Friday, May 13, was ultimately canceled due to weather.

“We had our work cut out for us all weekend, but we did what we could to recover and that’s all we can ask for. We didn’t win, but we did our best to put on a show,” Dietrich said, a four-time winner at Lincoln Speedway so far in 2022. “Hats off to this entire team. They bust their butts and I appreciate everything they do. And a big shoutout to all of the fans who came out and supported the World of Outlaws show this weekend. We had some weather issues at Williams Grove, but the fans hung tough and showed their dedication. We wouldn’t be able to do any of this without them.”

ON DECK:
Tentatively, Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2022 campaign with another Central Pennsylvania doubleheader on Friday and Saturday, May 20-21, this time visiting Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway in respective fashion.
