Dietrich victorious at Selinsgrove, earns top-ten in Summer Nationals opener
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (July 26, 2021) – Continuing a trend of success, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich turned his recent three-race stretch into a trio of positive outings, scoring a victory in the process, his third of 2021, while also solidifying a top-ten result with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Dietrich’s win, earning $5,075 for his efforts, occurred during Selinsgrove Speedway’s 75th Anniversary on Tuesday, July 20. Utilizing the evening’s pole position, Dietrich led all 25 circuits around the Selinsgrove half-mile; his first Selinsgrove win of 2021 and his second in two seasons.
Dietrich’s three-race stretch hit high gear with Williams Grove Speedway’s annual Summer Nationals, featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Series, on Friday and Saturday, July 23-24. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native finished 10th and 14th, respectively, during the summer showstopper, rallying a grand total of eight spots in two features highlighted with a five-spot jump on Friday.
“I don’t think it was the weekend we wanted, but to get the week rolling with a win at Selinsgrove feels pretty good. I just wish our results on Friday and Saturday would have matched that,” Dietrich said, driver of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Bowhunters Superstore, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car. “Hats off to my guys. It’s been a very, very busy last few weeks, so for them to stick it through and keep working says a lot. I’m not sure what we have in line for Friday, but we plan to visit Port Royal on Saturday and get another mark in the win column.”
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with a visit to the Port Royal Speedway “Speed Palace” on Saturday, July 31. Originally slated to be a solo $10,000-to-win showstopper, the annual Living Legends Dream Race will now feature a second $5000-to-win main event, which was added as a “thank you” to the fans and drivers for their support following the Greg Hodnett Classic rain out during Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek.
Dietrich’s plans for Friday, July 30, have yet to be determined.
