Dietrich stays focused despite competition pause

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (April 9, 2020) – Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic halting short track action in its tracks, the competitive edge is far from lost, as Gettysburg, Pennsylvania’s Danny Dietrich is eager to return to action as soon as facilities are permitted to do so. Dietrich, the 2019 Central PA Sprints and Williams Grove Speedway champion, is keeping his focus on what’s ahead and preparing his team for a possible uproot if sprint car racing should resume in other areas of the country before Pennsylvania is cleared.

In addition, it has been determined that Dietrich will take his team west in August. The plan calls for a potential return to the Sprint Car Capital of the World for the 60th running of the world-renowned Knoxville Nationals. ‘Double-D’ qualified for the 2015 Nationals A-Main and finished 15th.

“I think it’s pretty safe to assume that everyone is ready to start racing again, but all we can do right now is wait and be ready. Hopefully everyone is staying safe,” Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “We had a pretty busy first month or so of racing, so the down time gave us a chance to kinda regroup and prepare for a busy spring/summer schedule. Right now, our plan is to go wherever the racing happens first. Some areas may be permitted to race sooner than others, so we’re ready to relocate if needed. We haven’t lost focus, we’re just getting antsy.”

Danny Dietrich owns one victory thus far in 2020, that occurring during Lincoln Speedway’s annual Icebreaker on February 22. The win, his first of three consecutive top-five finishes in the Pigeon Hills this season, was worth $4,000. Dietrich’s most recent highlight was a runner-up performance at Williams Grove Speedway on Sunday, March 15.
