Dietrich secures starting spot in 2024 Tuscarora 50 A-Main; Port Royal and Lincoln on deck

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (October 9, 2023) – Not the victory Dietrich wanted, but the Gettysburg native, known to most as “Double-D,” did leave the “Speed Palace” as a winner on Thursday evening, October 5, concluding Port Royal Speedway’s annual Tuscarora 50 as a Non Qualifiers Feature champion. The win, Dietrich’s seventh sprint car triumph of the season, earned the former Port Royal Labor Day Classic winner a $2,000 payday, simultaneously solidifying a starting spot in the 2024 Tuscarora 50 main event.

Just two nights prior, Dietrich, ace of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, finished sixth during High Limit Sprint Car Series competition at Bridgeport Motorsports Park in Swedesboro, New Jersey. A frequent flier with High Limit in 2023, Double-D kicked off the midweek blockbuster with a runner-up performance during heat race competition, ultimately qualifying for the evening’s dash where he finished seventh.

Following Port Royal’s Tuscarora 50 featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions, Dietrich joined the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in Port Royal’s annual Nittany Showdown on Friday and Saturday, October 6-7. Dietrich highlighted the doubleheader with a 12th-place performance on Friday; he started 18th.

“Not the victory we wanted, so to speak, but it worked out to be a good race to win,” Dietrich said. “Happy to be locked into next year’s Tuscarora 50. It’s a tough race to get in, let alone win, so we’ll take our automatic starting spot and enter next year’s race with a little less pressure.

“Hats off to the fans for coming out in full force all week,” Dietrich added. “We’re lucky to have the opportunity to compete in front of such a loyal fanbase.”
