Dietrich highlights Florida visit with WoO podium run; Lincoln’s Icebreaker on deck

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (February 13, 2023) – “Double-D” Danny Dietrich made his annual February pilgrimage to the Sunshine State during the recent week, joining the All Star Circuit of Champions and World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for Volusia Speedway Park’s DIRTcar Nationals February 7-11.

Although ultimately losing Saturday’s main event to a pesty Mother Nature, the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native made the best of his venture south and padded the trip with a podium score against the Outlaws; finishing third in Series’ season opening program Thursday (contested late Friday afternoon, also as the result of Mother Nature). The 2022 Williams Grove Speedway champion started from the front row, earning his position by way of runner-up result in his respective heat race, followed by a runner-up result in the evening’s dash.

Despite not repeating his podium success, other Volusia results for Dietrich include an 18th-place run against the All Star Circuit of Champions to open the DIRTcar Nationals on Tuesday, February 7, followed by a 15th-place outcome against the Greatest Show On Dirt in Friday’s regularly scheduled program.

“We worked hard all week to get the car where we needed it to be…a lot of trial and error, but a great way to learn some things before the Pennsylvania season gets going later this month,”Dietrich, ace of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, said. “Hats off to my guys. It can be a long week especially if things aren’t going how we want them to. Regardless, we made the best of the trip and enjoyed ourselves.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2023 campaign with Lincoln Speedway’s annual Icebreaker – Pennsylvania’s sprint car lid lifter – set for Saturday and Sunday, February 25-26. Each program will award $5,000 top prizes.
