Dietrich ends weekend campaign with podium at BAPS; All eyes on Bob Weikert Memorial
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 20, 2024) – It was a slow start to the weekend for “Double-D” Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing, but the slow start eventually translated into success, capping his recent campaign with a podium performance, finishing third officially, at BAPS Motor Speedway in York Haven, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, May 19, commencing action from the outside of row four.
Dietrich, who now owns 16 top-tens on the year including 14 top-five finishes, kicked-off his Sunday night campaign with the quickest time within his respective qualifying group, racing on to a runner-up performance in the third of four heat races. As noted, Dietrich started eighth on the $5,000-to-win grid, climbing five spots to not only secure his eventual podium outcome, but simultaneously secure momentum for what could be a major payday in Posse Country.
“We want that Weikert trophy, no doubt,” Dietrich, ace of the Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Derek Snyder & Self Made Racing, York Excavating, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, No. 48 sprint car, said. “Just gotta roll in there with the mindset that we can do it. We’ve had a little bit of a rough patch lately, but we found some things that were attributing to that. We’ll roll into the weekend with a fresh start and a clear mind.”
Prior to his visit to BAPS Motor Speedway, Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing joined High Limit Racing in a pair of New York starts at Outlaw Speedway and Utica-Rome Speedway on May 16-17, highlighting each of his appearances with a 14th-place outcome at Utica-Rome. In addition, Dietrich finished 13th from 21st at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, May 18.
COMING UP NEXT:
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing plan to visit Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 24-26. Port Royal Speedway’s Bob Weikert Memorial (May 25-26) finale will award a $75,000 payday.
