Danny Dietrich rallies big to earn All Star victory at BAPS; Four-race Labor Day weekend ahead
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (August 30, 2021) – Not deterred by his fifth-row starting position, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich put on a show Sunday night at BAPS Motor Speedway near York Haven, Pennsylvania, and ultimately charged his way through the A-Main field to snag his second FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 main event victory of the 2021 season. The Johnny Mackison Clash score, earning the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native a $5,000 payday, commenced from tenth on the grid, climbing his way to a top-five spot by lap 12, all before tracking down race leader, Hunter Schuerenberg, to steal command with just two circuits remaining. Dietrich’s All Star win pushes his career total to 15; a first-ever at BAPS Motor Speedway.
In addition to his victory at BAPS Motor Speedway, Dietrich, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Bowhunters Superstore, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made, No. 48 sprint car, kicked-off his recent weekend with a hard charging performance against the All Stars at Grandview Speedway on Thursday, August 26, ending the night with a rally from 15th to finish ninth.
Adding to the weekend state sheet, Dietrich finished third during Selinsgrove Speedway’s annual Jack Gunn Memorial on Saturday, August 28
“Hats off to the track prep team here tonight. This is the best this track has been in a long time…there was a top, middle, and bottom…that was a lot of fun,” Danny Dietrich said in BAPS Motor Speedway victory lane. “We needed a win pretty badly. Our schedule has been all over the place this year, so to get this win close to home makes things even more special. We’ll celebrate this one tonight and get ourselves ready for a busy weekend next weekend.”
A tentative Labor Day weekend outlook Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing includes the $6,088-to-win Todd Shaffer Tribute at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, September 3, a double at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday and Monday, September 4 and 6, and a trip to Selinsgrove Speedway for their 410 National Open on Sunday, September 5. The Port Royal double will award a combined $10,333; $5,333 on Saturday and $5,000 for the Labor Day Classic on Monday afternoon.
