GETTYSBURG, Pa. (July 14, 2020) – Reuniting with the All Star Circuit of Champions for the first time since the Keith Kauffman Classic at Port Royal Speedway, ‘Double-D’ Danny Dietrich made the trip west to Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, during the recent weekend and helped the traveling All Stars close-out the 2020 edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek.
The two-day program, featuring the Lou Blaney Memorial on Saturday and Justin Snyder Salute to the Troops on Sunday, proved to be a success story for the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native, finishing fifth and seventh, respectively, and passing more cars than most. In fact, Dietrich’s fifth-place run on Saturday was the product of row nine, eventually battling ahead 12 spots to earn his top-five appearance.
“It was a fun weekend at Sharon. I’m glad we were able to make the trip. The most important part is we were able to spend time with Derek Snyder of Sweeney and Pace Performance. He’s a big part of our team and anytime we have the chance to spend time together, we jump on the opportunity,” Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “The only thing that could have made the weekend better is getting a win. We had the speed, we just need to put it all together next time.”
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2020 campaign with an All Star Circuit of Champions tripleheader on Friday through Sunday, July 17-19. The weekend will commence with the Tommy Hinnershitz Memorial at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, followed by the two-day Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday and Sunday.
‘Double-D’ is the defending opening night winner of the Bob Weikert Memorial.
