GETTYSBURG, Pa. (November 13, 2023) – For the eighth time this season, and for the second time at BAPS Motor Speedway, “Double-D” Danny Dietrich earned his way to open wheel victory lane, officially closing out his 2023 campaign with a $25,000 triumph in BAPS Motor Speedway’s season-ending Les Stewart Showdown on Saturday, November 11.

Dietrich, who commenced his winning march from seventh on the feature grid, took command with less than five laps remaining, earning the edge over Hanover’s Troy Wagaman Jr. following a late race restart. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native earned his way into the Les Stewart Showdown main event with a second-place finish during heat race competition, simultaneously solidifying a feature redraw spot. As noted, the victory bumps Dietrich’s season total to eight, his second at BAPS since winning on August 27, and his first since his Tuscarora 50 Non-Qualifiers title at Port Royal Speedway on October 5.

As an added bonus, Dietrich’s Les Stewart Showdown victory snapped a recent stretch of runner-up finishes, scored just short in starts at BAPS on October 21 and Bridgeport on October 28.

“It’s easy to beat our heads against the wall and constantly question ourselves, but we refused to do that. Every day is a new day and we came out on top and that feels fantastic,” Dietrich, ace of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, #1 Cochran Expressway, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, said. “Hats off to this entire team. Gary Kauffman gives us an amazing opportunity to go out and do this every weekend and we certainly wouldn’t be in this position without him. It’s going to be a short off-season, but we’re more motivated than ever.”

In addition to his wins at BAPS Motor Speedway and Port Royal Speedway, Dietrich was victorious at Selinsgrove Speedway, Fremont Speedway, Lincoln Speedway, and Williams Grove Speedway. The Fremont Speedway victory, accomplished during Ohio Sprint Speedweek featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions, scored Double-D a $10,000 payday, as well as a first-ever win at “The Track That Action Built.”
