Dietrich represents Posse well at Knoxville Raceway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 11, 2020) – Although Dietrich’s plan to complete a massive weekend doubleheader in Iowa and Pennsylvania was deleted due to Pennsylvania’s ongoing social distancing restrictions as the result of COVID-19, ‘Double-D’ still made the trip to Iowa on Friday, May 8, and entered action with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

Joining a loaded, 48-car field which included many of the world’ top sprint car aces, Dietrich represented his Pennsylvania fanbase well on Friday night at Knoxville Raceway and finished 12th after starting ninth during the 30-lap program, securing his spot in the evening’s main event with a third-place finish during his respective heat race. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania-native kicked-off his evening in Iowa with the 11th fastest time during his respective flight of qualifying time trials.

“I think we showed some speed, but there’s always room to improve. It was nice to turn some laps again,” Danny Dietrich said, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “I can’t thank my team enough for the hard word, and I can’t thank my partners for allowing this trip to happen, especially Start 2 Finish Complete Property Maintenance. Our racing schedule came to a halt pretty quick, but the work never stopped. We’re ready to keep this season rolling, so hopefully things start to open up and we can begin racing regularly again.”

Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing have not yet finalized plans for the coming weekend, but discussions do include the possibility of visiting Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota, for the Great Lakes Shootout on Friday and Saturday, May 15-16. The two-day spectacle will award $5,000 and $7,000 top prizes, respectively.

“We don’t really have a final plan yet,” Dietrich remarked. “We are going to watch the weather and keep an eye on local racing in Pennsylvania. If things start to happen in PA, we have no reason to leave. Only time will tell at this point.”
