Danny Dietrich highlights All Star weekend with Jack Gunn Memorial sweep; Loaded Labor Day weekend schedule on deck

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (August 29, 2022) – “Double-D” Danny Dietrich did the ultimate double during his recent weekend of competition, racing on to sweep Williams Grove Speedway’s annual Jack Gunn Memorial Twin 20’s featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions for a pair of $4,000 paydays. Impressive enough, Dietrich, now a 13-time winner in 2022, led all but four circuits of the 40-lap affair, racing wire-to-wire in the first segment before taking command from sixth on lap five in the second. Brent Marks, who finished second in each of the programs, did his best to spoil Dietrich’s efforts in the second 20-lapper, but his slider attempt on the last circuit was not enough.

In addition, Dietrich, driver of Gary Kauffman’s Weikert’s Livestock, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Pace Performance, Big Cove Whitetail Trophy Hunts, Drop Of Ink Tattoo, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC, Self Made Racing, No. 48 sprint car, finished fourth with the All Star Circuit of Champions on two occasions over the recent weekend beginning at Bloomsburg Fair Raceway on August 24. The former Central Pennsylvania sprint car champion went on to finish fourth in Lincoln Speedway’s $7,300-to-win Kramer Klash on August 27. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native battled in the third position for much of the 35-lap distance, but a bobble on the turn four cushion allowed Gio Scelzi to take advantage.

The only downfall of the weekend occurred at Bridgeport Speedway on Thursday, August 25; an opening lap tangle forced Dietrich to the trailer with no chance of repairs.

“Overall, a great weekend for our team. I think we had the potential to win all four, but we’ll take what we earned and move forward,” Dietrich explained. “Hats off to my guys for busting their butts all weekend. These long race weekends can be really demanding, but they hung tough and did what they had to do.”

ON DECK:
Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing will continue their 2022 campaign with a four-race weekend in the Keystone State, set to invade Williams Grove Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, Selinsgrove Speedway, and once again at Port Royal Speedway on Friday through Monday, September 2-5.
